Get the latest news on your desktop!!!

If you have windows 7 (most computers sold this year should have this) you can use the following trick to get the latest news from www.opendoorbaptistministries.com directly on your desktop. This may also work with windows vista, but it has not been tested.

First you will need to subscribe to our RSS feed using Internet Explorer… Here’s how:

When visiting our website, look for the little orange RSS icon in your browser.
(This should be beside the “home” icon) Click it!

You should be directed to an “RSS” page which contains news from Open Door Baptist.

Click the link that says “Subscribe to this feed”.

You should get a popup that allows you to subscribe to this feed.

Click the Subscribe button!

You have now subscribed to the Open Door RSS feed!!!

The next step is to add the “Feed Headlines” gadget to your desktop.

Follow these simple instructions:

1) Click the start button
2) type the word “gadget” in the search that appears just above the start button.
3) Click the link for “Desktop Gadget Gallery

In the Gadget Gallery, you should see a gadget called “Feed Headlines”:
Drag it out of the gallery, to your desktop

You can now close the gallery.
You should now see a Headline box on your desktop.

Next you need to set the headlines gadget to display headlines from Open Door:

When you move the mouse over this box, you will see an icon which looks like a wrench.

Click this icon to change the feed options.

In your Headline options, change the “display this feed” drop down box to “Open Door Baptist Ministries”.
For “Number of recent headlines to show”, it is recomended that you change this to “10 headlines”.

You should now have an RSS feed containing the latest news from www.opendoorbaptistministries.org on your desktop.
